Circular Computing is a British company that remanufactures business laptops through a rigorous 360-step, 5+ hour process certified to BS 8887 standards — the world's first BSI Kitemark for remanufactured laptops. Each laptop is fully disassembled into individual components, with every part inspected and tested. Covers, palm rests, bezels, and keyboards are repainted using robotic spray systems matched to original colours and finishes. Screens are dismantled with at least one component replaced per unit, guaranteeing zero scratches or pressure marks. Every unit undergoes a minimum 3-hour stress test running all major components at full load. The result is a product certified as "equal to or better than new" with an RMA rate below 3% and a minimum 12-month warranty. The company claims each remanufactured laptop saves approximately 316 kg of CO₂, 190,000 litres of water, and 1,200 kg of earth compared to manufacturing new. Circular Computing demonstrates how rigorous design-for-testing and component recovery processes can produce remanufactured consumer electronics that meet or exceed new product standards.
